Enjoy Today

I'm so excited for next week, I can't wait till next month. Everyday, we look to our future and think of how great it'll be when tomorrow arrives. But we forget that yesterday, we were looking forward to today. We forget celebrating today and realizing the great time we're having at the very moment... we're too busy thinking about better tomorrows.

By all means... Dream of the future! Have ambitions! Strive to have better tomorrows! But don't lose track of today. Now's the time to live better. Don't wait for tomorrow.

I'm so excited to leave for Taiwan for the rest of the summer, but I love being in Montreal, having the time of my life with my dear friends. So I'm enjoying today; there's no use thinking about Taiwan until my plane takes off.. I'd only be wasting my time here and now if I spent my days longing for tomorrows.

"Just" Friends

Funny how people say that they're "just" friends. As if being friends is not nearly as meaningful as being a couple...

Being friends with someone from the opposite sexe (or same sexe if that's your preference) is.. great! I mean, being able to just see the person for who they are and not having all those sexual complications in between.. it's genuine, it's sincere. You don't have to worry about how your hair looks, what to wear today, or watch what you say. You're friends! All those minor details go away... and you just concentrate on having the time of your life.

I'm not saying that being friends with someone is better than being with them. If you like somebody, go for it!!! And I'm not saying that all kinds of superficial stuff come into play when it comes to relationships--it really shouldn't be superficial if it's somebody worth your time--but come on now, we all know that when it comes to dating, we all "watch" ourselves to a certain extent. All I'm saying is, being friends with someone is just as great as being with them.

I just find the expression "just friends" a little funny. =]

Whatever your relationships are, whoever surrounds you, just make sure you cherish them... friends, boyfriends, girlfriends alike.

Should Be...

the summer should be starting

I should be feeling
much more at ease
I should be sleeping
till I damn well please

I should be reading
I should be singing
I should be writing
I should be dancing

yet all I'm doing...
is lots of whinning
